While I lack faith in a system designed from its inception to incarcerate, abuse, disenfranchise, neglect, overlook, and disempower, there must always remain hope. Without hope, progress can only be a dream. With hope, progress is manifested.

My hope is that we continue to tell the truth about Emmett Till, Amadou Diallo, Oscar Grant, John T. Williams, Charleena Lyles, Alton Sterling, George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Daunte Wright, Adam Toledo, and Makiyah Bryant. These stories and so many others deserve to be told. We must tell them. All of us.

Keep on fighting, protesting, screaming, chanting, praying, and hoping. Keep on marching. Keep on breathing. There is so much work to be done. Let us struggle together, until everybody is free.
