Founded in 1995 by a group of female philanthropists, the Washington Women’s Foundation (WaWF) is a collective of women who fund various efforts from non-profits across Washington state. Their interests include education, law, justice, and incarceration, housing and hunger, arts and community culture, healthcare, and climate and agricultural justice.
In February Sankofa Impact was invited by the Washington Women’s Foundation to present our Pilgrimage-In-Place programming. Our presentation journeyed through the history of the Pacific Northwest presenting key places that tell the story of the Black American freedom struggle. Sankofa Impact is proud to partner with the Washington Women’s Foundation to provide place-based education.
