Community is at the heart of the Sankofa Impact mission and vision. For many of us, community service is at the core of celebrating the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Friends, families, and folks often make their rounds at various community events and spaces to serve, march, and reflect.
With this in mind, we are opening the Sankofa Impact office on Monday, January 20th from 9am to 5pm. Stop by 1408 18th Ave, Seattle, WA 98122 to enjoy light snacks and refreshments, rest and recover, and connect with our team. Feel free to stick around or just pop in and say hello briefly.
In addition to visiting our office, check out these community events: Explore a range of volunteer opportunities across Puget Sound. Join our friends at the Seattle MLK Jr. Organizing Coalition for workshops, opportunity fair, and a rally at Garfield High School. The annual march will depart Garfield HS around midday and head downtown. Visit the Northwest African American Museum for King Day: Forward Together. Top it all off with Painting the Town Red: A MLK Day Tribute to Billie Holiday at the legendary Royal Room in Columbia City.
